Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. She is the President and the controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is a California native, and was raised by a wealthy family. Jerry Buss' father was an entrepreneur in real estate who later owned the Lakers and several other companies in the field of sports. Their relationship ended in 1972 and she began to feel like she was abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she began working for the family's business, serving as general manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. Later, she founded the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She first served as vice-president for the Lakers before taking on the position of president of Great Western Forum. Buss took over Lakers ownership Lakers through her father's estate in the year 2013. Five siblings of hers took over the franchise through an estate trust.
